Shakir is a transportation executive with over 20 years of experience in traffic management, planning, and operations. As Director of Traffic and Planning at 407 ETR, he oversees forecasting, reporting, and infrastructure planning to maintain the highway’s safety and efficiency. He holds an MBA from Queen’s University and a Master’s in Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto. Currently pursuing a Doctorate at Saint Mary’s University, his research focuses on sustainable, strategic solutions for urban congestion. Shakir aims to enhance mobility, economic productivity, and environmental outcomes by applying business principles to transportation system challenges.
